Ohio County girls ages 7, 8 & 9 are invited to participate in this year’s Navy Bean Festival Princess Pageant. The pageant will be held on Wednesday, October 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rising Sun Riverfront Pavilion Stage. (Bring lawn chairs). This pageant is a festival event for local girls to have fun, make new friends and walk away with a sense of pride for participating. Since 2016 is Indiana’s Bicentennial the theme for the pageant will be “Celebrating Our Indiana Legacy”. Contestants will be required to wear a dressy outfit in our state’s colors of blue, yellow and/or white.

Applicants must be at least 7 years old by September 1, 2016 and not older than 9 by September 1, 2016. Applicants must reside in Ohio County and/or attend Rising Sun Schools. The contestants will be judged in the following categories: on-stage introduction, on-stage question, stage presence and read a short essay written by the contestant answering “Why I love Indiana”.

The chosen winner will be presented at the Navy Bean Fall Festival and must participate in the Festival parade on Saturday morning, October 8, 2016. The winner will receive $150, a sash, crown and flowers. The 1st runner-up will receive $100, a sash and flowers. Little Miss Congeniality will be chosen and will receive $50, a sash and flowers.  

To enter, please fill out the attached entry form and submit with a copy of the contestant’s birth certificate, a photo of the contestant and a the contestant’s short essay to the address listed on the instruction page. The Entry Form deadline is Friday, September 16, 2016. Only the first 20 entries will be accepted. All contestants will be contacted by a Pageant Coordinator before the event with instructions for the evening of the pageant.
